Washed Out, Faded Distress — The Tough Elegance of Denim

Denim is for the ages. As a medium for self-expression and individuality, its versatility is endless. In this editorial, we explore denim in all forms. The visual direction accentuates the textures and dimensions of denim through the blend of light and dark, soft and harsh, washed and fresh. With the help of G-STAR and KNWLS, the label created by Charlotte Knowles and Alexandre Arsenault, this silhouette reflects the indigo staple to its core.

For THE DENIM 002 collection, G-STAR teamed up with KNWLS to create a limited edition piece that showcases raw textures and a one-of-a-kind, layered silhouette: “a low-rise, motorcycle-inspired jean shaped by our signature anatomical principles” (G-STAR). This collaboration is available now for purchase.

“They don’t feel like women’s or men’s jeans… They’re just good jeans.”
– Alexandre Arsenault, KNWLS co-founder

Capturing the rebellious nature denim has always embodied, this editorial focuses on the tough, unruly nature of the material in an untraditional manner. New identities, unique perspectives, and unconventional methods: Can you handle the RAW?
