Festive Holiday Campaigns 2020: Gucci, Prada, Miu Miu, Versace, and Ferragamo Delight with Style

Like every year, the big design houses try to outdo each other with their fancy holiday campaigns. This year, there are indeed a lot of visual Christmas treats when it comes to the advertising campaigns for Gucci, Prada and co. Maybe it’s because of this particularly exhausting and tough year that the big fashion brands are at least trying to keep their customers happy with a few well-staged and perfectly styled stories.

Gucci

The Christmas party at her workplace probably did not take place this year. But before you mope about it too much, Gucci has taken the reins and come up with a smart concept for what must be one of the most creative Holiday campaigns. The photographer’s aesthetic is clearly inspired by a bygone decade and the scenery and acting of the models clearly depicts a classic office party situation. Head designer Alessandro Michele brought Mark Peckmezian and Akinola Davies on board for this unique production. The cheerful employees pop champagne bottles, while, of course, being dressed head to toe in the most dazzling Gucci gowns. Anyone who misses out on this office Christmas party can’t be helped.

Prada

Steven Meisel was the master photographer behind Prada’s Holiday Campaign. The focus was nothing other than the unsurpassable design and the long tradition of the house all captured in black and white. Freja Beha, Maty Fall, Mao Xiaoxing, Rudolfs Valbergs, and Melijne Schorren are part of the story told in an ancient Roman villa. Besides precisely staged still lifes and detailed shots, this campaign is dominated by perfection. The product is in the foreground and its effect is only enhanced by the pompous surroundings.

Miu Miu

Miuccia on the other hand is relying entirely on her tried-and-tested muses for Miu Miu this year. The campaign is titled “Miu Miu Icons.” The incredible cast includes model and director Chloë Sevigny, Oscar-winner Kim Basinger, English actress Raffey Cassidy, and Chinese model, actress, and former ballet dancer Du Juan. In addition to the already familiar Miu Miu faces, a few new additions were added putting the icing on the epic campaign’s cake. They include Euphoria actress Storm Reid, “The Crown” actress Emma Corrin, and singer-songwriter and actress Jordan Kristine Seamón.

Versace

Versace has adopted the theme “Driving Home for Christmas” in their Holiday campaign. Since we all had rather limited opportunities to see our loved ones this year the anticipation of celebrating together at home remains the best joy. Irina Shayk, Adut Akech, Biaggio Ali Walsh, and Louis Baines are the stars of the campaign and give it that certain something. The Versace fashion film shows them riding in a convertible through the enchanted countryside with a mountain backdrop. All the models tell their own story of the drive and the luxurious car is loaded with Versace gifts.

Salvatore Ferragamo

Ferragamo insists on simplicity and quality in their Holiday campaign this year. Both the products are staged with the usual high quality but without a lot of frills, just like the spectacle behind the photos. The diverse cast was shown in front of a simple grey wall and with only a few props, yet it still puts us in the Christmas mood. The eye-catchers of the collection are clearly the custom-made both knitted and silk dresses, which made this a discreetly produced high-quality garment a range of soul.
