It’s been quite some time since we last had Jaden Smith on our radar. But he’s back with some dreamy summer vibes. Last week, Jaden released his new single “BYE”. His sound is Post-R&B meets Pop and goes in the same direction as his releases from last year, such as “Cabin Fever” or “Boys and Girls”. His visuals for “BYE” seem to follow his previous color pattern of dreamy pastels and warm lilacs, pinks, and oranges. Furthermore, it stands out that for some of his music videos, including “BYE”, he uses one relatively short clip and loops it on repeat. Regardless, the video offers artistic value and enough room to focus on the rhythm, sound, and lyrics.

We all know Jaden Christopher Syre Smith (yes, that’s his full name and explains his 2017 album “Syre” and 2019 album “Erys”) as rapper, singer, fashion icon, designer, and actor. He made his first onscreen debut with his part as Christopher in “The Pursuit of Happiness” next to his famous father Will Smith. If Jaden didn’t steal your heart then, he might have done so in 2010 when he played Dre Parker in “Karate Kid”.

Jaden’s music career began around 2010 as well, as he was part of the soundtrack for “Karate Kid”. After that he worked with none other than Justin Bieber and the two released “Never Say Never”. Since 2012, Jaden has been releasing his own songs, many of which blew up on YouTube. His debut album “Syre” was released in November 2017. He had two further albums “Erys” and “CVT3” that came out in 2019 and 2020. Amongst his most popular songs are “Summertime in Paris”, featuring his sister Willow, “Icon”, and “Ninety”.

His new track “BYE”, which was released on June 22nd is on its way to be a successful one as well. The song is the first single of Jaden’s soon to be released “Day Tripper” edition of his third album “CTV3” (Cool Tape, Vol3), which we hopefully can expect this summer. In the song Jaden tries to convince his ex-girlfriend to give their love another chance. In a statement, Jaden said he wrote this song when he was very upset and sad, but is glad that the song is out and ready for the world to hear.

For this special Birthday celebration, our dear Paige has prepared a little poem for you guys. Can you guess where she took her inspiration from?

Doin’ what we ain’t ‘posed to, girl, that’s why I chose you

I don’t want to impose, just listen close to my poems

Girl don’t worry, ain’t nobody know

This the type of stuff a joker keepin’ on the low

Cause girl you know you’re beautiful, a space kitten

Relationships are messed up but your face isn’t

Used to taste like Jolly Ranchers Kisses, now they taste different
